WLAN in IMKASF and use of the guest network
Wi-Fi has been available throughout building 435 since spring 2017. Containers 9651 and 9652 and building 448 are also covered. If there is a need for further coverage in the IMKASF, please send an email to IT∂imkasf.kit.edu.
The various options for using the WLAN can be found on the SCC WLAN website.
Since September 2017, the following SSIDs have been available to KIT guests in the WLAN:
- eduroam: for all those whose home institution also participates in eduroam. Login with the access data of the guest's home institution.
- KA-WLAN: unencrypted access to the internet
- KA-sWLAN: encrypted access to the Internet after one-time registration with INKA e.V
Alternatively, after creating a guest account(https://www.scc.kit.edu/dienste/wlan-gastkonten.php), the encrypted WLAN KIT or the wired DMZ network can be used. For wired access to the DMZ, please contact Claudia Roesner .
In IMKASF, the (WLAN) guest accounts can be created and managed by each group leader and by the IT manager of the groups. Guests must be made aware of the IuK and the use of the accounts (which guest receives which account) must be logged.
The IMKASF IT managers can answer any further questions.
