Information on the safe handling of data on storage media
Detailed information on this topic can be found on the pages of Zendas.
- Passing on a device when employees change: Before passing on a device, all personal data of the predecessor must be securely removed. This can be done, for example, by using dban to securely delete the entire hard disk or erase to securely delete individual directories and all free space. For further information see https://www.zendas.de/themen/vernichtung/festplatten/loeschen.html.
- Use of SSDs: Since SSDs cannot be securely erased in the traditional way, SSDs should only be used in encrypted form and should not be passed on if personal / personal data has been stored on the SSDs. For more information, see https://www.zendas.de/themen/vernichtung/ssd/loeschen.html.
